Contrary to popular rumour not all fishwives are coarse, bad-tempered women with loud voices.  Indeed, the only thing you’ll hear us shout about is our deep-seated appreciation of all things fish.

Call us uncompromising, but we only work with the finest fillets of sustainably sourced fish and fresh herbs.  For a long while now we’ve harboured the belief that the much-loved fishpie and fishcake needed a heartfelt makeover; a move towards more generous portions and even more sumptuous, handmade recipes.

We first entered the fray in 2005 once we’d discovered that there was no-one out there specializing in making the finest quality handmade fishcakes and fishpies.

All too often the so-called premium propositions provided nothing more than a safe haven for all those off cuts of fish that had nowhere else to go.  As fiercely fastidious fishwives we believe passionately in a small batch philosophy, which means we only make to order as opposed to any speculative stockpiling.

We opted for an honest, artisan approach for our recipes, which is why every single one of our many offerings is brimming with at least 50% prime fish that has been oven-baked, not fried, to ensure unrivalled flavour, freshness and moistness.
